The conversation during today’s executive panel at BGImpact2026 focused on more than AI technology — we heard how organizations are adapting to changing workforce expectations, operational complexity, and the need to move faster without compromising safety.
Led by Donavan Hornsby, the discussion brought together leaders across semiconductor manufacturing, logistics, consumer products, coatings, beverage manufacturing, and industrial operations to share how they are approaching SIF prevention, operational visibility, workforce engagement, and AI adoption inside their organizations.
One theme that continued to surface throughout the discussion: the next generation of workers expects more context, more connection, and a stronger sense of purpose in the work they do.
As John Barlew shared, “They want to be part of something bigger than themselves.”
From reducing operational risk and downtime to improving training, engagement, and decision-making, the panel reinforced how technology, leadership, and frontline experience all need to work together to move programs forward.
Thank you to David Metcalfe \(Verdantix\), Allison Montgomery \(Applied Materials\), Marty Stern \(Colgate-Palmolive\), Randall Brillhart \(Sherwin-Williams\), Chris Savage \(E. & J. Gallo Winery-US\), and John Barlew, CSP, CHST \(Kenco Group\) for the thoughtful discussion this morning.
