At IMPACT 2026, Tanya Moore of Perrigo Company plc shared how her team is working to align a global organization around more consistent incident classifications. That effort has included reviewing years of historical cases to strengthen data quality, uncover meaningful trends, and help leaders make more informed prevention decisions.
Alongside Laura Fiume and Tricia Dietrich Petty of Benchmark Gensuite, Tanya also discussed the broader shift toward evaluating actual SIFs, potential SIFs, and SIF risks.
As Tanya shared, “We needed a way to figure out how we were going to capture this—and how we were going to teach an entire company to stop looking at the recordable rate and start looking at all the SIFs, all the PSIFs, and even the SIF risks.”
Her story reinforced how stronger data and greater consistency can help organizations move from simply recording incidents to better understanding and preventing serious harm.
