Brazil’s business landscape underwent a transformative shift with the introduction of eSocial, a digital bookkeeping system implemented in 2018. This regulatory requirement aims to streamline electronic recordkeeping, providing Brazilian-based companies with a consolidated platform to fulfill labor obligations related to security, tax policies, and also enable seamless automation on employer and employee information sharing.Â
As of January 2023, the Brazilian government requires sites to comply with their Occupational Health and Safety (SST) Electronic Delivery information through eSocial, ushering in a new era of standardized reporting.Â
Understanding Brazilian eSocial RequirementsÂ
The eSocial framework focuses on key aspects of labor compliance, emphasizing the gathering of information related to:Â
- Work Accident Communication (CAT; Requirement S-2210)Â
- Worker Health Monitoring (Requirement S-2220)
- Environment Work Conditions – Risk Factors (Requirement S-2240)Â
These components form the core of electronic recordkeeping, aiming to enhance transparency and efficiency in employer and employee information sharing. The eSocial mandate affects all companies operating in Brazil, however, the specific requirements vary based on the company’s size and the number of employees. As companies strive to adapt to this regulatory landscape, Benchmark Gensuite has put in place comprehensive solutions that can simplify the compliance process.Â
How Benchmark Gensuite is Simplifying eSocial ComplianceÂ
The complexity of navigating regulatory changes can be tiresome, but don’t worry, you’re not facing it alone. At Benchmark Gensuite, we commit to empower our subscribers by providing the necessary tools and information to navigate these requirements seamlessly.Â
The Benchmark Gensuite team, in collaboration with Miguel Rocha from INplantar Sustentável, has conducted an evaluation of how the Benchmark Incident & Measurements application can be expanded. This expansion aims to assist sites in Brazil in meeting regulatory requirements by facilitating the seamless extraction and upload of datasets tracked in Benchmark into eSocial.Â
The initial phase of Benchmark Gensuite’s project involves enhancing the Incident Management application to facilitate eSocial data submissions for the S-2210 form (CAT – Work Accident Communication). Users can leverage existing information captured within the Incident Management module and provide missing data fields conveniently through a table format, ready for CSV download.Â
Potential Future Enhancements and Integrations
Looking ahead, potential opportunities for Benchmark Gensuite may arise from the progress achieved in this first phase offering a chance to further refine compliance processes. As subscriber interest grows and regulations evolve, the integration of Incident Management with eSocial to automate S-2210 event data transfer could be considered with an aim to refine our MED Care module to efficiently collect important information fields in S-2220 events, with an emphasis on Worker Health Monitoring. Â
Additionally, there are opportunities with Worker Health Monitoring (S-2220) and Environment Work Conditions – Risk Factors (S-2240). Benchmark Gensuite could extend its capabilities to collect missing information fields in S-2240 events through its Industrial Hygiene module, achieving full integration with the SST eSocial Module and offering data transfer automation for all relevant events.Â
