Benchmark Gensuite recently had the pleasure of attending ASSP Safety 2024 in Denver, CO, where our team participated in several key events and presentations focused on advancing EHS practices through technology and collaboration. The conference provided a dynamic platform for sharing insights, connecting with industry leaders, and demonstrating how Benchmark Gensuite’s innovative solutions continue to shape the future of environmental, health, and safety (EHS) management.
Subscriber Appreciation Dinner with Protex AI
In partnership with Protex AI, we kicked off ASSP 2024 by hosting a Subscriber Appreciation Dinner—a special event dedicated to celebrating our customer community. The evening brought together over 70 attendees, including long-time subscribers, potential partners, and new faces from the Denver area. We were thrilled to see so many members of our community join us for a night of networking and connection.
The dinner underscored our commitment to building lasting relationships with our subscribers. At Benchmark Gensuite, we believe strong partnerships drive innovation, and events like this are our way of saying thank you to those who trust us to support their EHS and sustainability goals. It was a fantastic evening filled with great conversations about the future of EHS technology and opportunities for collaborative growth.
Flash Session on Generative AI in EHS
One of the highlights of the conference was the Flash Session led by Nishanth Rao, our Senior Product Solutions Manager, on Generative AI in EHS. Nishanth’s presentation provided an in-depth look at how Benchmark Gensuite’s generative AI tools are transforming how EHS professionals work.
The session focused on the power of AI to simplify complex EHS tasks, offering practical examples of how our AI-driven tools can streamline processes, enhance productivity, and deliver actionable insights. Attendees were particularly engaged with how generative AI accelerates data analysis, enabling faster decision-making in safety management, risk mitigation, and operational performance. It was inspiring to see so much excitement around how AI can reshape the future of EHS.
Panel Session: Emerging Trends in EHS Led by Natasha Porter
Our very own Natasha Porter, Chief Customer Officer, participated in a high-profile panel session discussing Emerging Trends and Challenges in the EHS Industry. Natasha shared her expertise on the evolving role of AI and machine learning in improving workplace safety and efficiency.
During the session, Natasha highlighted the transformative potential of AI, particularly in its ability to process vast amounts of data quickly and accurately. This allows EHS professionals to identify risks and trends in real time, helping them take proactive measures. However, she also touched on the importance of managing expectations—while AI is a powerful tool, human input remains critical in refining and implementing AI-driven insights. “Right now, you really have to go into your exploration, trial, or deployment phases of AI, thinking, ‘Can this solution get me 80% of the way there?’ And then it’s really down to your engagement and interaction with the results to take it the rest of the way,” Porter explained.
“When I started my career in EHS, I spent a lot of time working with data … Looking at findings or non-compliances, and corrective actions coming out of inspections that we were doing.
And I would have to spend time identifying what trends were in that data and then what we were going to do to make improvements in our overall program. It would take me quite a bit of time.
Knowing what AI can do today, I wish I could go back with a time machine and use this type of technology on that data analysis because what would have taken me a week or two manually to do then can probably take 10 to 15 minutes today with some good prompts and a good structure for how you engage with AI.”
